DESCRIPTION POLY-TEKS is a highly decorative cold-glazed extremely durable low maintenance plastic wall coating. Easily applied to any type of building material POLY-TEKS forms tenacious, monolithic seamless surfacing—highly resistant to impact, abrasion, acids, alkalis, water, oil and detergents.
POLY-TEKS is applied in a continuous 14-45 mils thickness (depending on the requirement of the substrate) in an almost unlimited range of colours, colour-combinations and other decorative effects.

Heavy build coating, concealing uneven texture and imperfections of the masonry. . Fire retardent and nonflammable. (UL RATING for flame spread: ZERO). . Highly decorative. Coverage
(a) Blockfiller (if required)50-100 sq. ft. per gallon. (Dry Film 15 30 mils)

LIMITATIONS Should not be applied at temperatures below 50°F <LI>Applied coating should not be allowed to freeze until it is dry <LI>Walls below grade should be waterproofed from outside.<LI>Wooden surfaces to be Coated should be primed with drying oil, or with Poly Teks Wall GlazeDELIVERY AND STORAGE Materials to be delivered and stored in undamaged original containers with manufacturers labels, intact and protected from freezing.
APPLICATION
(a) The application shall be carried out by franchised approved applicators of Niagara Protective Coatings and in.accordance with manufacturer’s current printed instructions. Minimum dry film thickness of the coating shall be 15 mils.

(b) Coating shall be installed after other trades have completed their work, except for other wall and ceiling finishes, caulking movable partitions and all
fixtures, fittings, equipment and accessories that are not to be coated.
(c) Mask adjacent surfaces, and avoid coating windows, doors and frames. Heavy
coating build-up can effect the fit of the doors, windows and other hardware.
(d) Finished work shall be even, uniform in colour and appearance; matching the approved sample and free from marks, runs and other defects detrimental to
appearance and performance.
ARCHITECTURAL SPECIFICATION EXAMINATION
(a) Surfaces to be coated shall be sound, clean, hard, non-dusting, straight cured,
free from oil and efflorescence and uniformly smooth.(b) Report to the general contractor in writing all defects and unsatisfactory conditions. Commencement of work shall imply the acceptance of the existing conditions.
(c) Moisture content should not be in excess of 14%, and the surface temperature
during the coating and 24 hours after shall be minimum 50°F.
TESTING AND SAMPLES Submit samples for architects approval before proceeding with the application. Test patches to be applied on the work site to determine if they
comply with the specifications, if the Architect desires.
NOTES
1. Specify under General Work Division: "Prior to application of wall coating general contractor shall clean the surface of all dirt dust mortar slurry coat and laitance efflorescence tar and other matter which might prevent direct adhesion of the coating to the true surface. For filling larger holes or patching use a mixture of Niagara Blockfill
or Poly-Teks and cement freshly prepared in a desired consistency. just prior to the use. This mixture is inexpensive easily prepared yet provides a permanent bond which is stronger than that of any masonry materials
2. Permanent type floors such as tile terrazzo concrete or wood should be installed prior to the application of coating. Heating and plumbing hardware. resilient floors movable
partitions acoustical tile etc. should be installed after application of coating.
3. Specify under General Work Division: "General contractor shall supply light power heat and general protection from elements as required for the application of this wall coating General contractor shall protect the finish from defacement until the project is turned
over to the owner.
4. In order to achieve a smooth surface free from holes and imperfections (concrete blocks and cement) add the following clause: "Prior to the application on of the wall coating. apply a coat elf Niagara Blockfill in accordance with manufacturer’s current printed
instructions.5. Insert list of divisions and specifications where related or allied work IS specified.6. Insert list as required such as ‘Painting of doors and window frames" and cross
reference under appropriate section. See also Note 2 regarding installation of fixtures etc.
